Jennifer Sauer

Jennifer Sauer is a Montana blonde with Colorado roots who resides in Missoula where she works as a wordsmith and trivia whiz. On powder days, you can find her at Snowbowl. On sunny days, you can find her outside.

Jennifer escaped from the University of Montana with a degree in Journalism in 2001. She spent a year covering the criminally inclined in the Bitterroot Valley. She later returned to Missoula to work as a newspaper designer and editor.

A passionate athlete and marathon runner, Jennifer spends countless hours running deeper and deeper into the Rattlesnake Wilderness. She is training for the Missoula Marathon in July before launching on the river trip.

Josh introduced Jen to the thrill of whitewater. On her first trip down the Lochsa she fell out of the boat and was sucked across the river directly above the notorious Killer Fang. Josh’s heroic throw-bag rescue cemented Jen’s love of both her guide and big water. Since that fateful day, Jennifer has survived many an adventure on the rivers of Montana, Idaho and Wyoming.
